The Stones At Hyde Park

Image
This is where i say i'm sorry for not posting, unfortunately in the memory of rock 'n' roll i refuse to care. Now what have you been up to lately? Oh really, how is your grandma doing nowadays anyway? oh really, sorry to hear. Me? Oh not much really, I ate dinner, watched some telly, listened to some Yes and then went to Hyde park to see (as the daily mail coined them) the living dead (Better known in the music world as the Rolling Stones). Yes, i went to see the Stones, i went on the 6th so.... yeah i'm a bit late at posting, anywho I Went there, joined in on the insane barrier run, in which i'm fairly certain i shortened my life by several years, and managed to get to the barrier. The wait was antagonising, but soon King Charles came on and Sung a series of Mum-Friendly songs for you to listen to on a sunny day. He wasn't bad, and lived up to the (Slightly high) standards  i had set for him. But really? He didn't make my jaw drop. A Hour (Or so) la...

Gary Clark Jr. What a Glorious Day We Live in.

Image
To those of us who are aware of modern blues artists, Gary Clark Jr presents the freshest sounds since Stevie Ray Vaughan, and although he has slowly been building up a substantial fan base over the past three years, he has over the past year, truely became a brilliant artist in his own right. As a guitarist there are none who can equal him, in his age range. He has been showered by compliments by a heap of guitarists. His debut album "Blak And Blu" was amazing, phenomenal, you won't get another one like it for the rest of the year. The best thing about him? Well that's probably the fact that although you can directly sense his influence in his music, you can still obviously tell it is made in this day and age. Now roughly three quarters of the artists i write about have a 50/50 chance of making it big time, but Gary doesn't have that, he IS going to make it, this isn't optimism, this is realism at its finest.

The 5 Greatest albums of 2013.... So Far

So we  have reached the fourth month of this ungodly music and we have had hundreds of new albums chucked in our face, some mediocre, many sub-lime, but a few are true gems, and right now i think i'll tell you about my gem collection of 2013. 5. Bad Blood - Bastille  This album was to be honest a bit of a letdown for me, I've been waiting for it since october of last year and it truly doesn't hold up against their early EPs but now that everyone is talking about "how great Bastille are' I'm hoping maybe it'll point some people towards our thriving indie scene.  The stand out tracks of this album are  Pompeii ,  Bad Blood (On a EP released last november as well),  Flaws ,  Overjoyed  and  Things We Lost In Fire . The Biggest problem with this album is that their trying to appease everyone the songs are a hotpot of genres and.... well really they should of been spending their time perfecting one genre rather than 50. 4. The Me...
